Virtual Events and Webcasting Leader Reports Increased Market Acceptance, Adoption

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—May 23, 2011— ON24, Inc., the global leader in webcasting and virtual event solutions, today announced that the company has received a 2011 San Francisco Business Times Tech & Innovation Award, in the Business Application category. Demand for the company’s virtual communication solutions is growing, and many of the world’s most respected and well known companies are now ON24 customers.

“ON24 is defining the change that is occurring in the way that companies communicate, and we’re thrilled that the Business Times has recognized our leadership in the webcasting and virtual events space,” said Sharat Sharan, ON24 CEO. The company was founded in 1998, and Sharan, who has steadily grown ON24 through two economic downturns, recognizes that innovation is critical to success. “Even through two downturns, ON24 has remained innovative and flexible – key characteristics for tech leaders in the Bay Area.”

More than 750 organizations, including IBM, Cisco, CA Technologies, Merck, AstraZeneca, Fiserv, Credit Suisse, GE and Oracle, rely on ON24. New accounts secured this year range from fast-growing start-ups to industry-leading large enterprises, including JPMorgan Chase, KPMG, Verizon, Walt Disney, Intuit, Gilead, Revlon, Toyota, Ariba, Perkin Elmer, Thermo Fisher Scientific and MWV.

“Let me add that ours is a customer-driven commitment to innovation,” Sharan continued. “Customers share their requirements and ideas, and we listen and respond. Our global expansion and growing product portfolio result from our customer partnerships. It’s no accident, therefore, that five of ON24’s customers are also finalists for the Tech & Innovation Award. In that spirit, we are pleased to receive this award, and we congratulate our fellow honorees.”

ON24 offers fully integrated, enterprise-wide solutions for marketing and demand generation; corporate communications; and training. Specific applications include:

  • Company town hall meetings
  • Virtual trade shows
  • Partner training environments
  • Continuing professional education events

Through its annual awards program, the San Francisco Business Times recognizes the dynamic, innovative companies driving the Bay Area’s thriving tech sector. For the 2011 program, judges selected 25 finalists out of 300 nominations, in 12 categories.

Previous honors for Sharan include being named to the “Who’s Who in B-to-B” by B2B Magazine in 2009 and 2010, and ON24 received Frost & Sullivan Market Leadership Awards for Virtual Events and Webcasting Solutions in 2009 and 2010.
