Content Platforms and Evolving Business Models in the Asian Publishing Industry

HONG KONG and SAN FRANCISCO– April 1, 2013– ON24, Inc., the global leader in webcasting and virtual communication solutions, today announced a partnership with the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) to deliver a series of thought leadership webinars for the evolving print and online publishing markets. As the organization dedicated to best practices in the professional publishing business, SOPA will leverage the webinar series to better equip member firms and the wider media community with the skills and knowledge to effectively position their content platforms and business models in the dynamic and evolving Asian publishing market.

The webinars will target senior executives from media companies and advertisers and their agencies and will focus on delivering new perspectives on topics ranging from programmatic advertising and video, social and mobile publishing to the challenges of paid digital content and tablet formats. With the support of its members, SOPA will provide access to subject matter experts in media and advertising and high-value, actionable content that will help members navigate the ever-changing market.

“SOPA is thrilled to launch this series of events,” said Jonathon Whiteley, Honorary Treasurer of SOPA and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, of Incisive Media. “We intend to assemble some of the best and brightest minds from the media industry to address the challenges facing our members. We’re excited to work with the ON24 team to bring this live experience to our constituents across the region and to showcase some of the most innovative platforms available to the media industry.”

ON24’s webcasting solution will be used to deliver this expertise, both live and on demand, to SOPA’s audience across the large and diverse Asian region. As a result, end users will be able to avoid costly and time-consuming travel to in-person meetings and seminars. Additionally, ON24’s industry-leading Platform 10, the flexible virtual communications platform, offers extended interactivity and the ability to customize the individual experience with a diverse and growing application widget library. ON24 analytics will enable SOPA to track user activities and demographics, providing a detailed understanding of the audience size, location, participation and engagement.

“Through its webcast series, SOPA is taking an influential position in the Asian market,” commented Denise Persson, CMO of ON24. “SOPA is providing thought leadership that will advance the publishing industry, while ON24 is providing a flexible and scalable virtual environment. Not only will webcasting reduce travel time and cost, but it will also facilitate connections within the community of professional publishers in the region.”

The SOPA webinar series began in February with a webinar focusing on the evolving role of publishers and featuring a panel of digital advertising experts.
