Association to Host First Virtual Metaphysics Conference

B2C ON24 Virtual Show Designed to Build Global Community

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – April 6, 2009 – ON24, Inc., Reflecting the increasing adoption of virtual event solutions by a variety of organizations, Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) has announced its first online conference, “Body-Mind-Spirit Transformation: Preparing for 2012 and Beyond.” Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. is using ON24 Virtual Show for the conference, which will begin May 8 and feature leading experts on a wide range of metaphysical topics.

“We understand the current economic conditions that many people are facing, but recognize too the importance of interacting with like-minded individuals,” said A.R.E. Conference Manager Allison Parker Hedrick. “We think a next-generation global virtual conference with ON24’s cutting-edge, innovative 3-D interactive technology is the ideal solution.”

The virtual conference will include:

  • An auditorium for viewing more than 20 conference presentations. They can be saved in a “briefcase” for later viewing.
  • A communications center for interaction between conference attendees and with speakers via live chats.
  • A resource center, a central repository for viewing all content, such as speaker hand-outs, reference materials and home study tips.

“What is especially appealing to attendees is that they will be able to do all this, and more, from the comfort of their own homes, at a time that is convenient to them,” Hedrick added. “This online conference format will allow us to reach a greater global audience. Our goal is that attendees will still experience the sense of community and fellowship that they can enjoy when attending one of our conferences in person.”

“Although most of our virtual shows are business-to-business events, the A.R.E. conference illustrates that this technology can be used effectively with consumers as well,” said ON24 CMO Denise Persson. “The potential to build global communities around common personal interests is limitless.”

The association selected ON24 Virtual Show because of ON24’s experience, track record and reputation for delivering quality, cost-effective virtual events. “We want attendees to have a positive experience, one centered on the conference itself and not on technical questions or issues,” Hedrick explained. An ON24 help link will be available throughout the show, with a single click providing a snapshot of the requirements for the optimal user experience, as well as a quick reference guide, support email addresses, an extensive knowledge base and FAQs.

Open to all, Edgar Cayce’s “Body-Mind-Spirit Transformation: Preparing for 2012 and Beyond” conference will remain available to attendees until November 7, 2009. The one-time admission fee is $199.
