This insurance provider covers the entire value chain of reinsurance, primary insurance and insurance-related risk solutions. As a pioneer in risk assessment, the company drives the digital transformation of the global insurance landscape, expanding products and services as new forms of risk emerge.
From space rocket launches to cyberattacks to pandemics, this insurance company takes care of risks while its clients take care of business. The organization offers innovation, unrivalled expertise in all aspects of risk and a sound financial footing for customers that face extraordinary circumstances like extreme weather events and Olympic Games cancellations.
This large company is active in all lines of insurance, taking on risks worldwide of every type and complexity—and even providing reinsurance (insurance for insurance companies). The organization is a sought-after and trusted business partner to its customers, with offices around the globe.
In addition, this insurance provider has a large and diverse audience and needs to communicate with stakeholders regularly. Digital experiences help the company do exactly that.
The need for a user-friendly, versatile communication tool
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the insurance provider had to cancel all of its in-person events. “To be in dialogue with our customers is critical to our whole business, so it was pretty clear we needed to find a solution for this,” the company’s event project manager said.
The organization needed a digital experience solution that would offer different options for reaching clients and journalists with everything from top management events to press conferences, town halls and trainings.
The company was looking for a user-friendly platform, not only for its employees, but also for stakeholders, regardless of what software programs they were used to working with. Due to limited access to features in the organization’s existing Microsoft solution, it knew it needed a more robust platform for public-facing events.
“You can participate in a Microsoft Teams meeting even if you don’t have the program, but you have limited access to the features. Attendees lose some quality and presenters lose the interactivity of the digital experience,” the organization’s senior project manager said.
“We chose ON24 as our Platform because it’s easy for audiences to use. Presenters can customize the interface how they like and have more interaction possibilities than with other software.”

Global digital experiences with rich attendee insights
The insurance provider decided to purchase ON24 Webcast Elite so its digital experience attendees could use the software from all over the world on any device and enjoy a consistent, high quality experience.
“ON24 is easy for audiences to use. Presenters can customize the interface how they like and have more interaction possibilities than with other software,” the senior project manager said.
The company now uses ON24 for all public facing events. For example, the organization has an upcoming digital experience focused on a specific type of insurance. “This event will feature speakers from the pharma industry, injury insurance, primary insurance, transport and logistics,” the senior project manager said.
With ON24, the insurance provider can have follow-up contact with digital experience attendees and registrants who are unable to attend its live events. The software automatically sends an email saying “Thank you for attending” or “Sorry you missed the event” with a link to the on-demand version so each recipient can watch it at their convenience.
“We also have follow-ups where we ask, how did you like the experience, both from a technical and content perspective? What were you missing? How our audience feels about the presenters is very important to us. At the end of each webcast is a survey with questions,” the senior project manager said.

ON24 enables this insurance company to reach a larger global audience. “We have one innovation event that, until last year, was always in-person. So, only people in our city could attend. Since we implemented ON24, we have the opportunity to reach people all over the world,” the event project manager said.
Digital events, rather than in-person events, enable the organization to secure top tier speakers who took part in the company’s security conference. Since he wasn’t using the time to travel, he could participate by video.
“Speakers are more available now than they used to be because they were spending a lot of time in airplanes and at airports. Now, we can just get them on the call. We have more possibilities and it doesn’t cost extra,” the senior project manager said.
Even after pandemic-related travel restrictions are lifted, this insurance provider plans to use a hybrid virtual and in-person event format, continuing to leverage the power of digital experiences.
